Image Generation

Image Generation Objects

Importing media is only one way to get started with NATO. Several objects exist which generate images directly from within Max. These include `242.fraktal` and `242.lissajou`, which produce fractal and lissajous patterns, respectively. `242.plasma` and `242.plasma2` make abstract, um, plasma patterns -- they look like this. Most notable, though, is `242.qd`, which is a full-featured QuickDraw synthesizer, like Max's built-in `lcd` object, but for NATO. The example below shows three of these objects at work.

The routine on the right is used to generate the displayed QuickDraw pattern with a single mouseclick. I include it to demonstrate a rudimentary sampling of commands understood by `242.qd`. With `242.qd`, you may create any QuickDraw shape (framed or filled), and display text in any font installed in your system, at any size, in any color or style.
